Novak Djokovic is returning to the practice courts after winning only two matches in Cincinnati and Toronto, his only hardcourt events going into the U.S. Open.

"Just many, many, many things are not clicking these two weeks on hardcourts. It's unfortunate, but it's more than obvious I'm not playing even close to what I'm supposed to play," he said following a third-round defeat to Tommy Robredo this week.

Djokovic also fell to Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the third round of Toronto.

The world No. 1 said that despite having his wedding a month ago, he had been practicing "more than usual" before returning to competition. Now he is planning to do even more, going to Flushing Meadows to train.

"I have to keep on working and trying to get better for U.S. Open," said Djokovic.

The Serb was asked if he would add anything to his training. "I'm going to play with two racquets," he joked, but explained that his approach would be more straightforward.

"Practice. Practice, that's it. Get as much as hours on the court, analyze the game, analyze what I did wrong," he said.

Djokovic won the 2011 U.S. Open, and reached the final a year ago.
