John Isner has become just the second player in ATP history to win a title and not face a single break point along the way.

The giant-serving American achieved the feat while winning his third title in Newport.

Isner joins Tommy Haas, who did it in Memphis in 2007. The German was the first to do it since the ATP began recording statistics in 1991.

"Going four matches not facing a break point is pretty impressive. I didn’t think I’d be able to do that," Isner said.

Isner also did a lot more serving and volleying than usual, which he says helped him on the low-bouncing Newport courts.

"I committed to the serve and volley probably 95 percent of the time," he said. "I was doing it the whole tournament."

Isner is next scheduled to play the ATP tournament in Atlanta.
