The New Zealand press reports that tournament officials met with 150 players from the ITF Seniors World Individual Championships that were scheduled to be played in Christchurch, New Zealand, which was struck by massive earthquake on Monday. Some of the players reportedly lost their passports, airline tickets and personal belongings as they were staying in hotels that were affected. All the teams have been in contact with their players.

The Wilding Park tennis complex was hit hard and some of the courts were destroyed. There is said to be liquefaction on both the indoor and outdoor courts.—Matthew Cronin
