by Jackie Roe, TW Social Director

Hey guys. I’ve got a jam-packed post today, so let's get this party started.

1) GVGirl (Karen) reached out to me this week about the Davis Cup tie in Austin in July; she’ll be there and wanted to meet up with other TWibers in attendance. If you plan on going, contact her at tweetup@gvtnews.com.

2) I also heard from CL, who’ll be at the Montreal Masters in August, and she, too, would love to hear from others who either plan on going this year or have attended the tournament in the past. (Did you like it? Where did you stay? Any tips/advice?) She’ll be checking in later, so go ahead and post your thoughts in the comments.

(For the first time in years, I don’t have a tennis trip on my summer agenda (maybe the Open?), but I’m happy to help organize TW gatherings at as many tournaments as needed. Feel free to drop me a line if I can be of service. :))

3) Don’t forget to play the Wimbledon ’11 Suicide Pool! Here’s TalkAboutTennis.com’s Mariya with all the info:

It's time for the Wimbledon '11 Suicide Pool at *TalkAboutTennis.com*. If you've played it before, you know what to do. Click here to play. You should find the thread for the first day (after the OOP is announced) at that link. The deadline to enter is the scheduled start of play on Monday, June 20th.

If you don't know how to play the Suicide Pool, read on or click here:

The basic idea of the Suicide Pool is to pick, for each day of the tournament (in this case, The Championships at Wimbledon), one player from the OOP who you think is going to win his/her match. If he/she wins his/her match you get to pick a fresh player from the next day's OOP. The end goal, of course, is to progress to the final and pick the eventual winner. There is a catch, in that you can only pick a player once for the entire tournament (so, for instance, you might want to save Nadal for a later round).

There are separate games for the ATP and WTA singles draws and you can play one or both of them:

There will be a fresh thread open every day of the tournament, for both the ATP and WTA. You'll also see a thread which tracks updated results once the tournament begins.

Additional rules:

You have to be a registered member of TAT, which you can easily become by registering here for free.

We will be keeping track of the fortunes of the TWibe. If you want your name to be tracked, please indicate this with the text "TW" in your first day's (and ONLY your first day's) pick. Only include your TW name if it’s different from your username on TAT. Check out the example below:

4) After a bit of a hiatus, the All About Me quiz is back. Another eye-opener . . .

Who am I?

Gender: Female

Zodiac sign: Leo

Hair color: Blonde

Eye color: Blue

Shoe size: 6

Last film you saw: Black Swan

Do you have a significant other?: Yes

Crushes: Way too many to list here but as a young girl, I really loved  a singer named Bobby Sherman. And my best friend’s older cousin, Joey, who was incredibly hott!

Favorite musician: I tend to like classic rock—so let’s go with Clapton, or Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page/Robert Plant combo

Favorite film: So many! I prefer movies as mindless entertainment; I am not really into deep thought-provoking movies with a message. Can I show my inner geek and say the initial Star Wars movies? I will also say that The Turning Point brought me back to a lost loved activity, so that is one I cherish.

Favorite TV show: I mostly watch sports, but I loved Seinfeld, Friends and lately enjoy Entourage

What you like to do on the weekend: Depends on the season—but mostly spending casual relaxing times with my family and friends

Favorite food: Anything Italian

Favorite sport: To watch—football, to play—tennis

Most memorable experience: My wedding and the birth of my children

Pets: I have had many—I love dogs!

Best feeling in the world: Being loved, and loving that person in return

Worst feeling in the world: Loneliness

Love at first sight: Yes

Death: Many forms of human suffering are much worse than a peaceful death. I hope in the end I am surrounded by those who love me—and that I love—knowing that I have lived a full life.

Long distance relationships: I am living proof they can work out for the best, but they take work

Where do you want to live?: I am perfectly happy where I am

Fears: Heights

Do you believe in heaven and hell?: Probably not as is taught in Sunday school as a child, but both are here on earth

Do you believe in aliens?: Given the vastness of the universe, I think it is rather conceited of us to believe we are the only life forms—so yes, they are out there somewhere

What do you do that makes your friends mad?: I can be very sarcastic and impatient

Who is the closest person to you?: My husband

Most embarrassing thing you’ve ever done: One that comes to mind . . . I went with a divorced girlfriend to a mixer at our tennis club. She had been wanting to hook up with this single guy, and he came over and asked us to play some dubs. I had downed one too many margs and I told him loudly and in front of everyone, Oh no, we are drunk . . . you will have to go play with yourself! I am pretty sure no woman had told him that before. :) My friend wanted to kill me.

Hard liquor or beer?: Yes :)

Love or lust?: Both!

Favorite love song: Europa by Gato Barbieri. With that on, a good meal and a glass of wine, if you don’t get lucky you have no game.

Favorite break-up song: End of the Road—okay I kid. Not really a break up song, but it makes me cry every time—Tears in Heaven by Clapton.

What are you thinking at this very moment?: How to not be so transparent answering these questions that the guessing game will be no fun. Probably failing.

Favorite kinds of clothes: Ones that make me look good. But I have a weakness for shoes . . . I am a woman, duh.

Have you ever cried in public?: Yes, over babies, weddings, sweet pet stories, and the usual chick flick tearjerker movies (worst one is Homeward Bound, about the pets lost in the wilderness trying to find their way home—gets me every time)

What do you hate: Anyone who harms innocent people to achieve their goals

What makes you angry: Stupid people in positions of authority

Who do you miss?: It makes me very sad that my beloved grandfather never got to see my children. He would have adored them.

If you could change one thing that happened in your life, what would it be: I thought I was “in love” with a young man and I pursued him very aggressively, hurting other people in the process to get what I wanted. In the end, it only hurt me. It was a horrible mistake. I wish I had left him and all involved alone.

So, which TWiber is this? Guess away!

Have a great weekend, and enjoy the start of Wimbledon, everyone.
