Hi everyone. I touched down on my return flight from Los Angeles a short while ago, after a quick trip to meet with Pete Sampras. Although it was 6:30 AM, LAX was in as bad a state as I've ever experienced in an airport - I wasn't even checking baggage and I had tremendous trouble just getting near an e-ticket kiosk. But get this: an AA employee grabbed my sleeve, pulled me aside, and told me that there were two e-ticket machines up on the fourth floor that nobody ever used. I was skeptical, but I hopped in the nearby elevator, hit 4, and sure enough - the doors opened and right around the corner were the two machines, just kind of sitting there, out of the way. So if you're flying American out of LAX anytime soon, now you know . . .
I'll have more too say about the time I spent with Pete tomorrow. He had high praise for Roger Federer and I can definitely report that after an initial glitch (the loss of a title sponsor), the March exhibition between Pete and Roger Federer at Madison Square Garden is definitely on. I've heard from a few sources that the fairy godmother is Netjets, a company that is heavily involved in the growing jet-chartering industry. Seems like a logical fit.
