Hi everyone: please post your thoughts on grass-court tennis and Wimbledon here. Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam that reserves the right to overrule the ATP computer rankings when making seedings - meaning, they may be reluctant to seed Rafael Nadal No. 2.

Unfair as this may seem, seeding according to ATP rank can wreak havoc at Wimbledon, and significantly improve the odds on an unexpected face emerging as a finalist.

Is that sufficient reason to, say, demote the World No. 2, when no other tournament would do that, and the player has earned that ranking (and the protected seeding that goes with it)? Fire away, and we'll take up the issue when I get back from Austria on June 26, as Wimbledon gets underway.

P.S. - Hat tip to regular comment poster Ray Stonada (tsk, tsk!) for posting the unique Wimbledon seeding formula (see below)
