At one o'clock today, weather permitting, the Wimbledon men's defending champion, Roger Federer, will walk onto Wimbledon's newly wide-open Centre Court (waiting for the roof in 2009), to begin the defence of his title. He will try, during The Fortnight, to equal the five-times-in-a-row Wimbledon winning record of Bjorn Borg, pictured here in 1981, the year he was dethroned in the final by John McEnroe.

This is your daily post for discussing the Wimbledon action. From where I sit, a few miles outside Wimbledon, and with less than two hours to go until Wimbledon coverage begins on the BBC, the skies are grey, and rain is gently falling. The weather forecast is promising heavy rain, so how much action we will see today remains uncertain. For the optimists among us, the Order of Play for today can be found here. -- Rosangel
