Good morning. We're now into the last two days of the tournament, and today at 2 p.m. local time, it's the ladies' singles final, Serena Wiliams versus Venus Williams. Please use this as your gathering-place to discuss or match-call today's tennis. We'd appreciate it if you could save any off-topic conversations until after the tennis is over.

The last time Serena and Venus played each other ws in Bangalore earlier this year - a match won by Serena in a third-set tiebreak. She also won their two Wimbledon finals, in 2002 and 2003; Venus was the victor in their 2000 semifinal enncounter. Serena leads the overall head-to-head 8-7.

Following the singles is the men's doubles final, between Jonas Bjorkman and Kevin Ulyett, and Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor. Venus and Serena Williams will next appear on the same side of the net in the ladies' doubles final, taking on Samantha Stosur and Lisa Raymond. Doubtless over here in the UK, all eyes will be on Court 1, where unseeded Laura Robson has become the first British girl to reach the girls' singles final for 24 years (the previous one was Annabel Croft, who won that year), and takes on Noppawan Lertcheewakarn, the number three seed.

Regarding that dreaded variable, the weather, news from the Met Office is a little more encouraging than it was last night, when yours truly and various others were engaging in a certain amount of pre-glooming (term trademark belongs to TW poster Bismarck). Today should be a dry day at Wimbledon, albeit with some cloud. That's how the weather looks now, from where I'm seated a few miles away. Any showers are likely to be brief. Meanwhile, it is predicted that there is a 30% chance of interruption to play tomorrow - the afternoon is forecast to be a mixture of sunny spells and scattered heavy showers, but not all of them are likely to hit Wimbledon.

As always, enjoy today's tennis.
