Good morning. Assuming that today's weather over Wimbledon permits it, this wll be the last day of Wimbledon 2008. At 2 p.m. local time, for the third year in succession, defending champion Roger Federer and world number two Rafael Nadal are due to begin their match to decide upon the 2008 Wimbledon Gentleman's Singles Champion. As usual, please use this Crisis Center thread to discuss or match-call the day's tennis. I've opened it up a little early, to allow the Tribe a final round of prognostications regarding the result, though there seems to be no firm consensus as yet - what a surprise! We'd be grateful if the topic of conversation could remain on tennis until after today's main events are over. After that, it's OK to go off-topic.

The weather could be a big factor today, as most of us know. The latest Met Office forecast for Wimbledon suggests that after some light rain rain in the morning, skies should clear. However, there is a 60% chance of seeing one or two heavy showers in the afternoon. It is also likely to be quite  gusty on Center Court today. Where I live, a few miles from Wimbledon, the day outside looks dreary, with oppressive cloud cover, though as yet I've seen no rain. Next year's roof is long overdue.

After the singles is completed, the Mixed Doubles final is due to take place. This features Mike Bryan and Katarina Srebotnik versus Bob Bryan and Samantha Stosur.

As always, enjoy today's tennis.
