The ATP tournament that was in New Haven will move to the campus of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The tournament will have a 48-player draw and be played Aug. 21-27. Winston-Salem businessman Don Flow, who was instrumental in bringing two Davis Cup ties to the city, reportedly led the effort and will help find funding for a new outdoor facility, which will include a stadium that will seat at least 3,500 fans and eventually be used by the university's teams. Another 9-11 courts will be built, including two additional show courts which will hold at least 1,500 fans each.—Matthew Cronin
