KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki moved a step closer to her first WTA title of the year by defeating Hsieh Su-Wei from Taiwan 6-2, 6-2 in the Malaysia Open semifinals on Saturday.

The Dane required 77 minutes to beat 2012 champion Hsieh, whose run finally came to an end after she had to go through the qualifiers this year.

Alexandra Dulgheru from Romania upset fourth-seeded Jarmila Gajdosova of Australia 5-7, 7-5, 7-6 (4) in the other semifinal, which lasted almost 3 1/4 hours.
