Russian veteran Igor Kunitsyn is a baseliner, who favors hard courts. Kunitsyn won his lone singles title in Moscow when he upset former No. 1 Marat Safin, 7-6 (6), 6-7 (4), 6-3, in 2008. Two years later, Kunitsyn partnered Dmitry Tursunov to win the Moscow doubles title. Kunitsyn and wife, Irina, have a son, Alexander, who was born May 16, 2010. Former Wimbledon quarterfinalist and TENNIS.com contributor Dr. Allen Fox coached Kunitsyn,who reached the 2008 Roland Garros doubles semifinals. Kunitsyn retired on August 22, 2013.
