Biography

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez loves clay and his one-handed backhand down the line. The La Roda, Spain resident has won three career titles — Casablanca in 2014, Bangkok in 2010 and Kitzbühel in 2009 — and considers his 2005 Australian Open victory over Carlos Moya as his career highlight as it vaulted him into the Top 100 for the first time. Garcia-Lopez grew up on clay, but his tennis hero was Pete Sampras. He has been ranked as high as No. 23.
