Klara Zakopalova plays a baseline game, but takes the ball early and hits harder than her 5'5" size suggests. The Prague native’s best year came in 2005 when she took titles at 's-Hertogenbosch and Portoroz after having previously reached her first WTA final in ’01 at Antwerp. She’s also had doubles success on tour, winning the 2011 title at 's-Hertogenbosch. In February, 2014, Zakopalova reached the final of the inaugural Rio tournament, losing to Kurumi Nara. She married Czech soccer player Jan Zakopal on June 6, 2006.
