Bosnian-born, German-raised daughter of a tennis teacher, Andrea Petkovic brought a dose of dance fever to the Grand Slam stage in advancing to her first major quarterfinal at the 2011 Australian Open. She celebrated that moment with the distinctive "Petko dance" she debuted at the 2010 U.S. Open. Petkovic made a mark on pop culture through her YouTube videos starring her alter ego, "Petkorazzi." The supremely fit German delivered her best results in 2011 winning her second title in Strasbourg, becoming the first German woman since Anke Huber to reach the top 10 and becoming the only woman to advance to three major quarterfinals in 2011 (Australian Open, Roland Garros and U.S. Open). She reached a career-high rank of No. 9 on October 10, 2011. The 14th-seeded Petkovic beat Jana Cepelova, 7-5, 6-2, in the Charleston final to win her first Premier title in April, 2014. Petkovic defeated Shelby Rogers to claim her fourth career title in Bad Gastein on July 13, 2014. In her spare time, Petkovic plays drums, enjoys dancing and likes to read.
