Lukas Rosol gained international attention in his Wimbledon main-draw debut in June, 2012. The 100th-ranked Rosol scored one of the biggest upsets in Open Era history in shocking Rafael Nadal in the second round, closing a monumental upset by cracking three of his 22 aces while serving out the match. The 6'5" Czech is most comfortable on clay and showed it in qualifying for the 2011 French Open where he beat world No. 8 Jurgen Melzer to reach the third round.
