Biography

South African-born Matthew Ebden moved to Australia and concluded the 2011 season as the No. 2 Aussie behind Bernard Tomic. Ebden's season-ending rank of No. 86 was the first Top 100 finish of his career. He reached three ATP quarterfinals, including 3 playing through qualifying to reach the last eight at the ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai where he beat No. 12 Gilles Simon before losing to eventual champion Andy Murray.
