I've got a glass of wine and the TV on, and I see Chris Fowler and co. have begun, strangely enough, by telling us that Rafael Nadal could take over the No.1 spot if he wins this tournament. Talk about getting ahead of ourselves!

Tennis.com has plenty of places for fans to talk about the Aussie Open: there's Pete's World, of course, as well as blogs from Tom Perrotta and Kamakshi Tandon, who are both in Melbourne (you can find all three on our home page). But feel free to voice your opinions here, too, on anything from Serena's outfit to Luke Jensen's shirt to the new court color, or even the tennis itself. I've got my DVR set so I can watch The Wire and the end of a football game, but I'll be checking it all out later. And I'll have a post up tomorrow.

I do recommend the DVR for these ESPN slam broadcasts. You can slip past the pointless interviews with U.S. players and the tired stories about the laid back atmosphere in Oz and get right to what you came for: tennis matches. If the commentators get to be too much, I also recommend a little music to go with your tennis. I'll probably be listening to WFMU's Sunday night lineup, which makes for a nice, surreal soundtrack to the ball bashing from half a world away. You can access them here: http://wfmu.org/playlists
