Ana Ivanovic defeated Victoria Azarenka 2-6, 7-6 (8), 6-2 in the first round of Cincinnati, coming from a set and a break down to win.

Ivanovic had not beaten a Top 10 player since Rome, when scored wins over Azarenka and Elena Dementieva on her way to the semifinals. "It's huge," said the Serb, who needed a wildcard to get into the tournament after a prolonged slump that has dropped her ranking to No. 62 this week.
