A source in Martina Hingis' camp tells TENNIS.com that the Swiss has had no serious thoughts on playing mixed doubles with Roger Federer at the 2012 Australian Open or at the 2012 Olympics.

The Australian tabloid the Herald Sun reported Monday that the 31-year-old "is expected to make a return to Grand Slam competition with a view to chasing London Olympic gold with Swiss compatriot Roger Federer."

Hingis is planning on competing in the Australian Open's new women's legends event in doubles.

Hingis and Federer have discussed teaming up at the 2012 Olympics, but in order to do so, Hingis would have to establish a WTA doubles ranking high enough to gain direct entry, as ITF rules state that mixed doubles entrants will only be chosen from players already on site in London. She would also have to submit to anti-doping tests as well as compete in Fed Cup.
