New French Fed Cup captain Amelie Mauresmo has convinced Marion Bartoli to return to the Fed Cup team after a nine-year absence.

The world No. 10, who has long been France’s top female player, had consistently refused to play because various captains would not allow her father and coach, Walter, to coach her during Fed Cup weeks. This also cost her a spot on the Olympic team.
L’Equipe reported that Mauresmo and Bartoli have agreed that Walter will not be on site to help his daughter to prepare for France’s upcoming World Group playoff tie against Germany. He will be allowed to attend the tie, but only as a family member.
