Kirilenko cried despite knowing engagement was coming

Maria Kirilenko says that even though she and hockey star Alexander Ovechkin had picked her engagement ring and the time and date when he would officially propose, she still broke down in tears of joy when it actually happened. The two became engaged on New Year’s Eve at a party in Moscow that they threw for both their families.

“He asked me before, but we decided it had to be officially, Kirilenko told TENNIS.com. “But the moment he asked me, I was still crying, it was very emotional. It was unbelievable.”
