Agnieszka Radwanska tried to explain why she gave such a dismissive press conference during the Group I Euro-Africa zone tie against Israel in Eilat last week. Some reports have it that certain fans were tough on the Polish team, while others have it that insults were hurled.
“To be honest I was really disappointed,” Radwanska told reporters in Doha. “I didn’t really expect something like this to happen on the tour, especially that I think a lot of teams were there and a lot of top players, and, yeah, a couple of things happened. It's always sad and always unfair, as well. I think it's not a responsible way to behave.”
Fed Cup captain Tomasz Wiktorowski would not say what words were used, but he did tell the Polish publication Gazeta that he was upset with the organization of the tie and has written to the ITF about it.
