World No. 9 Janko Tipsarevic tells the Serbian media that he will not play in the Davis Cup quarterfinal against the United States in Boise, Idaho on April 5-7.

Tipsarevic has frequently played for his country but is currently battling injuries, and said that he isn’t sure that his body can hold up in three-out-of-five set matches. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, doubles specialist Nenad Zimonjic, and No. 44 Viktor Troicki are expected to play for Serbia.

“Our team has a very strong team with the world No. 1 at the helm. I am convinced that without me they can achieve fantastic results,” Tipsarevic said.
