Wozniacki: I’m definitely not just a WAG

Caroline Wozniacki will attend the Masters golf tournament next week to watch her boyfriend Rory McIlroy. But although she'll be walking the course, the Dane says she wants to be recognized as the tennis player that she is.

“I hope people see me as more than just Rory’s girlfriend,” she told reporters at the Family Circle Cup. “I would like to be known for my tennis. I’m definitely not just a WAG, as they say.”

Wozniacki added that she gets nervous when she watches her boyfriend compete.

“If it gets tight, when he is in contention and he has a possibility to win, obviously I do get nervous because I have absolutely no control or power over it,” she said. “But I think it’s worse to watch on TV. At least when you’re walking there you can see how he is feeling, if he is feeling confident, if he is feeling good about it or, you kind of have a little bit of an idea. But if you just sit at home, it’s like okay, come on, just make the putt.”
