LONDON (AP)—Former French Open champion Li Na recovered from a second-set slump to beat Simona Halep 6-2, 1-6, 6-0 and reach the third round at Wimbledon on Thursday.
The sixth-seeded Li advanced to the third round of the grass-court Grand Slam tournament for the fourth time. She lost in the quarterfinals twice at the All England Club.
Halep suffered from back problems and needed medical treatment after the first set, but still managed to hit back in the second before Li held her to just 14 points in the final set.
