World No. 3 Victoria Azarenka’s knee injury has improved to the point where she plans on competing at the Southern California Open at Carlsbad in two weeks, TENNIS.com has learned.

Azarenka injured her right knee after a bad fall in the second set of her first-round win over Portugal's Maria Joao Koehler at Wimbledon and then pulled out of her second-round match. She has not played since then and has been rehabbing in Los Angeles.
