The Spanish sport daily Marca speculates that Rafael Nadal may skip Cincinnati, as his sore left knee and left elbow may not hold up after he returns to play the Rogers Cup in Montreal next month.

The two Masters Series events are played in back-to-back weeks. The publication also alleged that Nadal may not choose to play Cincinnati because “many players don’t like it because it’s geographically in the middle of nowhere.” Marca also reports Nadal once had a bad experience at customs at the Cincinnati airport.
