Fernando Verdasco continues to try out various racquet prototypes and is currently playing with a more “flexible” frame during Spain’s Davis Cup tie against Ukraine on the red clay of Madrid.

Former world No. 7 Verdasco won his opening singles rubber on Friday over Alexander Dolgopolov. He is said to have experimented with various Babolat and Dunlop frames this year.

“I had doubts about the one I was using,” Verdasco told El Pais. “The results weren’t coming and I needed a change. I’m trying this [new] one out by altering the internal elements of the frame."
