John Isner believes he has a shot to qualify for the year-end ATP World Tour Finals in London. The American is currently in 13th place in the points race, 800 points behind No. 9 Richard Gasquet, who would be the last player to qualify for the eight-man, round-robin tournament if the season ended today. This assumes that No. 3 Andy Murray, who recently underwent back surgery, does not return in time for London. Isner won his first-round match in Beijing on Tuesday.

“I certainly believe in myself and it would be an unbelievable experience to make that tournament,” Isner told ATPWorldTour.com. “I’m aware of the situation a little bit. The guys that are just ahead of me are actually quite a bit ahead of me as far as points go. But I do have tournaments and time to try to make that up.

"I would absolutely love to go there; I’ve never been there before. So, for me, I’ve just got to focus and control what I can control. It’s a cliché, but take it each match at a time and see if I can put together some good results like I did this summer.”
