World No. 1 Rafael Nadal is convinced that Roger Federer will qualify for the year-end ATP World Tour Finals in London. Federer is seventh in the race to the eight-man field, but Stanislas Wawrinka and Richard Gasquet are only handful of points behind him (85 and 105, respectively).

Gasquet was upset in Shanghai on Tuesday. Milos Raonic, who is 10th in the race, entered the week 375 points behind Federer, who is in Novak Djokovic’s quarter.

“He’s going to go, he’s going to qualify. I am sure of that,” Nadal told reporters in Shanghai. “He (Federer) is not going to have a problem. Even if he doesn’t have lots of points of advantage, I feel he always played well in this last part of the season. He likes to play in these tournaments. He always had the positive results. I really feel that he will do it. He’s a great player and I am sure he will be there and fighting for the title.”
