Huber changes mind, will try to play full season in 2014
After saying a few months ago that she would not play beyond the 2014 Australian Open, American doubles standout Liezel Huber changes her mind and says she will play the entire 2014 season, unless she gets pregnant again. Huber is the mother of a 16-month old son, Joshua.
The 37-year-old Huber told TENNIS.com that one of the reasons she changed her mind is because the 2014 WTA Championships in Singapore will now feature eight teams rather than four-team format the Championships featured in 2013.
Last year, in what the former doubles No. 1 called one of her most trying seasons ever, she played with 12 different partners. Huber is optimistic about the 2014 season as she is paired with the talented 20-year-old Chan Hao-Ching of Taipei. The pair won their opening-round match in Brisbane.
