Victoria Azarenka will attempt to play the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells even though she is wearing a walking boot for a foot injury she sustained at the Australian Open, TENNIS.com has learned. Indian Wells begins in two weeks.
Azarenka pulled out of both Doha and Dubai due to the foot injury. The former No. 1 has fallen to No. 4 in the rankings and has not won a tournament since beating Serena Williams in the Cincinnati final last August. The Belarusian won the 2012 Indian Wells title, defeating Maria Sharapova in the final, 6-2, 6-3.
