Venus Williams, who skipped Indian Wells like her sister Serena, will also be making an anticipated return at Miami this week.

Williams will be playing for the first time since winning Dubai. It was her first title since 2012 and her biggest since being diagnosed with Sjrogren's syndrome in 2011. Venus will play Anna Schmiedlova in her opening match in Miami, with a possible third-round match against No. 6 seed Simona Halep looming.

Williams also made the final in Auckland at the beginning of the season and is now ranked No. 31.

She told CNN she feels "more confident" after her physical struggles.

"I think it's because I have really been to the bottom, so once you get that far down and you get back up, you realize you really have nothing to lose," she said.
