It's probably the closest that Captain Jean-Luc Picard will ever get to social media, and for that, he has Jan-Michael Gambill to thank. The former ATP No. 14 (in 2001) has more than a few famous friends, including Elton John (see these exploits) and now none other than Patrick Stewart of Star Trek and X-Men fame. (Note: To be sure, there have been many good movies and stage shows starring Stewart that didn't have quite the same cult followings.)

Wrote Gambill in his humbly bragging post, "So nice catching up with my good friend and his amazingly talented new wife. #london #soho #sunnyozell #beer #music and a #mindreader ." Stewart, age 73, married singer Sunny O'Zell, 35, in September 2013—in a ceremony officiated by his X-Men co-star Ian McKellen. (Imagine Gandalf/Magneto officiating at your nuptial. Splendid!) On this night, the trio enjoyed a good time at London's 12 Bar Club, per Gambill's check-in on Instagram.

Now about Capt. Picard and social media. I was kidding that he wouldn't even touch those mediums with a phaser set to stun. In truth, Stewart has 1.22 million Twitter followers to Gambill's 565.
