About a month ago, the Spin relayed news that Monica Seles was seeking to sell her 5,800-square-foot Sarasota home, reportedly intending to downsize. Then the word erupted—or, rather, did not erupt at all—over the French Open's finals weekend that Seles, 40, is betrothed to marry Tom Golisano, 72.
Let's get this out of the way first: Your Spin keeper believes that age is basically nothing but a number. I've long said, You're as old as you act. (Side note: That's quite damning for some.) Second, news that Seles and Golisano are together dates to 2009. So it's not exactly breaking news, if still surprising. Golisano is a former owner of the Buffalo Sabres NHL team and a former New York gubernatorial candidate.
The Spin says kudos to the happy couple, and long may the fellow Floridians—Golisano moved there to escape New York's tax code—prosper and enjoy each other's company.
