Laura Robson will not play the U.S. Open after having left wrist surgery during the clay season.
The 20-year-old Briton told the BBC that she will start hitting again in August and would like to "be able to play some matches at the end of this year and get some competitive tennis in before Australia," she said.
"I'm basically going to be playing some very small tournaments to try and get my ranking up again."
The former Wimbledon girls' champion will be commentating for the network at Wimbledon.
