Following their memorable encounter at Wimbledon, neither Rafael Nadal nor Nick Kyrgios will be playing during the next two weeks.

Nadal has turned down an offer to take a wildcard into Hamburg, with tournament director Michael Stich saying, ''Despite our numerous efforts, Nadal has decided to take a break following Wimbledon and will not play at [the event] this year.''

Kyrgios, who had a wildcard into the Newport grass-court tournament, wrote on Twitter that he was pulling out. ''Unfortunately due to hip issue & tiredness I am not playing in @TennisHalloFame in Newport,'' he said.

The Australian teenager reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, defeating Nadal in the fourth round.
