Petkovic powers into Bad Gastein quarterfinals

BAD GASTEIN, Austria—Fourth-seeded Andrea Petkovic routed fellow German Dinah Pfizenmaier 6-1, 6-3 to reach the quarterfinals at the Gastein Ladies on Wednesday.

Petkovic, the 2009 champion, will next play Stefanie Voegele of Switzerland, who beat No. 5 Elina Svitolina of Ukraine 6-2, 7-5.

No. 8-seeded Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic beat Ana Bogdan of Romania 6-2, 7-5 to set up a quarterfinal against Grace Min, who had a 6-3, 6-3 win over fellow American Irina Falconi.
