Novak Djokovic is planning to play Beijing and Shanghai following the U.S. Open, but does not know if he will play Davis Cup or instead spend time with his wife, Jelena Ristic, who is expecting their first child.

The world No. 1 has not given a due date for the baby, but suggested it was not due during the next month. "For now everything is fine. I'm supposed to go there and play Beijing and Shanghai," he said following his second-round victory at the U.S. Open.

Djokovic said his participation in Davis Cup, held between the U.S. Open and the two Chinese events, will depend on his performance in New York.

"It really depends few things, but for now I'm on the list. I spoke to the players. I spoke to Davis Cup captain, and, you know, I'm on the list. But we have to see how this tournament goes," he said. "My wife is not here. I haven't seen her for a while. I just see stomach is growing on Skype and FaceTime, but I want to spend some time with her.

"So, you know, I'll see."

Serbia will travel to India for the World Group playoffs.
