Tomas Berdych says he would like to be coached by fellow Czech and tennis legend Ivan Lendl, who helped lead Andy Murray to two Grand Slam titles.

Lendl stopped working with Murray before Miami this March, saying he could not spend as many weeks coaching as the Scot required. However, Lendl, has said he would be willing to look at coaching another player if it fit his schedule and he sees potential to make a significant impact.

Berdych, one of the best players on tour without a Grand Slam title, indicated that while no arrangement has been reached, the two may already have discussed it.

"I think it's something which I was thinking about definitely. I think just needs probably the right time and timing to make it happen," Berdych said following his exit in the U.S. Open quarterfinals. "Fingers crossed ..."

Berdych is coached full-time by Tomas Krupa.
