Martina Hingis is set to keep playing doubles next year, having found a regular partner in Flavia Pennetta.

The two reached the U.S. Open final in their fourth tournament together and have agreed to play a selected schedule for the rest of this season. Hingis said she would also like to play with Pennetta next season as she goes for another Grand Slam doubles title.

"Not all, but definitely the selected, the smarter ones, the good ones," said Hingis of her proposed schedule. "Today I don't have to prove nothing to nobody, but definitely there are so many nice tournaments still this year. It hasn't finished yet. There is, yeah, next season. I'm looking forward to it already now."

Hingis, in addition to her singles accomplishments, reached No. 1 and won nine Grand Slam titles in doubles during her career.
