Andy Murray is making some big changes, deciding to no longer work with some longtime members of his tennis team and getting engaged to girlfriend Kim Sears.

Murray has stopped working with Dani Vallverdu, his assistant coach and friend since juniors, as well as Jez Green, his trainer. "We sat down at the end of the season and decided that a change would be best for all of us,” Murray said in a statement. “My off-season training and Australian Open preparations have already begun and I am very excited for the New Year. I thank Jez and Dani for all their hard work over the years and wish them the best for the future."

No reason has been given, though reports during Wimbledon said the two had objected to Murray choosing Amelie Mauresmo as his coach before properly consulting them. Mauresmo, who began working with Murray before Wimbledon, is to stay on as his coach. It is expected that Murray will be looking for a new assistant coach and trainer, given that the Frenchwoman has only committed to him for 25 weeks during the season.

Murray's agent also confirmed to the BBC that he is engaged to Kim Sears. The two began dating more than eight years ago.

Murray, who had a lackluster season that has seen him drop to No. 6 in the rankings, will play in the International Premier League this week.
