NO. 1 AMONG 30

The 27-year-old Novak Djokovic was announced this week as one of Forbes's "30 Under 30" in the sports realm. That might sound good for tennis, but four stars of this largely solitary sport appeared on the same list in 2014. It makes sense, though: Serena Williams is over 30, as is Li Na, who retired, and Victoria Azarenka and Rafael Nadal had seasons to largely forget. (Maria Sharapova may be a curious omission, on the other hand.) In unrelated news, Djokovic's titular restaurant in Belgrade, Serbia, was robbed—to the tune of $8,300—this week. The loss occurred overnight while the restaurant was closed in light of his family celebrating January 7's Orthodox Christmas. Djokovic's own home was burglarized in 2011 while he was playing in a stateside tournament.

HOP TO IT, MAN

Andy Murray suffered a sliver of embarrassment at the Hopman Cup team event when Alize Cornet aced him and subsequently raised her arms in celebration. So what could he do, really, besides do the same in return to her and enjoy it similarly?

By the by, Murray and partner Heather Watson beat Cornet and Benoit Paire in the contest by a 6-4, 2-6, 10-8 count, claiming the team victory 2-1.

KEI NOW

Kei Nishikori, 25 years young and No. 5 now in the ATP World Tour rankings, serves as the cover star for the latest issue of Time magazine's Asian edition. Therein, Andre Agassi says, "Kei is one of the few players that I’d pay money to see play. He’s one of the greatest shotmakers in the game, so I don’t see why he can’t proceed further up the rankings when Roddick retired at the 2012 U.S. Open.

SMASHING STYLE

GQ touted Ryan Sweeting (sort of) this week, noting his well-tailored style but saying, "We're not sure who you are." In semi-related news, Sweeting's wife, Big Bang Theory star Kaley Cuoco, forgot to thank him in her acceptance speech for a People's Choice Award recently, and her co-star on the sitcom (and former paramour) Johnny Galecki later did it for her.

It's worth noting that Sweeting will make his return to competitive tennis soon, at the Maui Challenger:

BONUS

James Murphy of erstwhile beat-laden indie rockers LCD Soundsystem has released a proper remix of sounds from a tennis match, and he's soon putting out with partner IBM an entire album, Remixes Made With Tennis Data. Here's the "hypnotic" updated track itself:
