MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) -- Eighth-seeded Milos Raonic reached the fourth round at a fourth consecutive Grand Slam tournament when he beat Benjamin Becker of Germany 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 at the Australian Open on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Raonic fired 22 aces to advance to a match Monday against either Feliciano Lopez or Jerzy Janowicz, who were playing later Saturday.

Raonic became the first Canadian player to reach a Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon last year after making it to the quarterfinals at the French Open. He also advanced to the fourth round at the U.S. Open.

He warmed up for this year's Australian Open by making it to the Brisbane International final, losing to Roger Federer.

The 24-year-old Canadian is noticeably slimmer at this year's Australian Open and said Saturday he shedded the weight at the end of last year.

The precise amount depends on what time of day he weighs himself.

''If you ask me right now, after I ate a sandwich, probably four kilos (8 pounds). If you ask me first thing in the morning probably six (13 pounds) ,'' said Raonic. ''I tend to fluctuate two kilos, plus or minus.''

Raonic didn't specify his current weight but the ATP lists the 1.96-meter (6-foot-5) player as 98 kilograms (216 pounds).

The No.8-ranked player known for his booming serve said he's been on a gluten-free diet for about two years, but the recent weight loss came from scaling back on quantity.

''I would order three things and eat until I couldn't eat no more,'' he said.

''Now I have a better moderation,'' Raonic said, and an understanding of how the right amount of food can help him to sleep better and digest better.

''What ended up happening is I lost weight.''
