KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. (AP) -- Serena and Venus Williams say they plan to play for the U.S. Fed Cup team next month against Italy.

The best-of-five match in Brindisi, Italy will be April 18-19. The United States and Italy are vying to return to the tournament's top tier.

''We deserve to be back in,'' Serena Williams said Saturday at the Miami Open. ''We have some of the best players in the world. We should be in the World Group A and competing for the title.''

Led by the sisters, the Americans beat Argentina 4-1 in Buenos Aires last month to advance to the playoff round.
