Andy Roddick says that while Jack Sock played well at Indian Wells, good health will be the most important indicator of future success. The American reached the fourth round of the BNP Paribas Open, where he lost to Roger Federer, 6-3, 6-2. He teamed with Vasek Pospisil to win the doubles title, upsetting Bob and Mike Bryan in the quarterfinals and defeating Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini in the final.

Now ranked No. 45, the 22-year-old underwent hip surgery at the end of 2014 and returned three weeks ago. "For Jack, being healthy is the big thing," Roddick told the *Journal Star* while competing in a PowerShares Series tournament. "He got in better shape last year, and that was key for him taking a big step. He certainly has the game to do it with a big serve, and big forehand."

The former No. 1 still practices and plays in exhibitions, and now works for Fox Sports as a television analyst. He has helped another American, Ryan Harrison, in the past, but said he's not looking to coach full-time. "Traveling and being gone 25 to 30 weeks isn’t something I want to do anymore," Roddick said.
