The Tennis Conversation: Lleyton Hewitt proves to himself nothing is out of reach in taking his place at the International Tennis Hall of Fame

SYDNEY (AP) Two-time Grand Slam champion and former No. 1 Lleyton Hewitt will not play this month's French Open in what is likely to be his last year on tour.

Hewitt's manager, David Drysdale, said Tuesday that the Australian veteran wants to focus on Wimbledon, where he won the 2002 title, and Australia's Davis Cup quarterfinal against Kazakhstan in July.

The 34-year-old Hewitt, who also won the 2001 U.S. Open, said in January that he planned to retire after playing his 20th Australian Open in 2016. He has struggled with foot and hip injuries in recent years and is currently ranked No. 108.

Hewitt reached the quarterfinals of the French Open in 2001 and 2004, but hasn't been past the first round since 2010. The tournament starts May 24.
