The ATP World Tour's dominant No. 1, Novak Djokovic, stars in a quirky new commercial for Peugeot that is, suffice it to say, a throwback. Says the brand he endorses, "In a rigid and backward world, he bravely offers to improve the game in order to have more fun and better sensations." The Djoker finds himself in an age gone by, fending for his sporting life in an indoor tennis match against a prissy prince-like gent. Seeing is always believing:

Somehow, whether intended or not, the commercial ends up serving as an indictment of traditionalism in tennis.

In reality, Djokovic is a modern-day Mr. Congeniality, not just slaying the competition on red clay this season but also making a cameo at a Roland Garros ballkid warm-up session to "Jump! Jump!" alongside those French Open helpers and duck into a pre-match jog with them.

About his turn as a pauper turned player, Djokovic delivers a classic performance in an instantly memorable TV commercial. Thus on screen and in real life, the guy proves to be flat-out ubiquitous.
