Martina Hingis won both the ladies' doubles and the mixed doubles events at Wimbledon, and says she was much happier playing in the finals than watching them from the Royal Box.

"I was sitting three years in a row in the Royal Box to watch the women's finals," Hingis said. "I got the invitation again [this year]. I'm like, 'I'm sorry, I have to prepare for the doubles finals. I can't accept.'"

The 34-year-old won the doubles title with Sania Mirza and the mixed doubles title with Leander Paes. The former world No. 1 hadn’t won a doubles Grand Slam title since 2002 at the Australian Open, but she won the mixed event with Paes at the Australian Open this year.

She has won 10 Grand Slams in doubles, five in singles, and three in mixed doubles.

"At this moment, I wouldn't have thought that I'll be back playing the finals here," Hingis said. "It's above my expectation."
